OFAC Permit

Rhododendron forests at the top of Natmataung National Park, Myanmar

For all PRCF work in the earlier years of our involvement in Myanmar up to about 2014, it was necessary to have a descriptive permit from the US Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) directly addressed to PRCF for its operations.

Most of our initial work in Myanmar, funded primarily by the US Fish and Wildlife Service and the Arcus Foundation, was carried out under the umbrella of several OFAC letters/ permits.  Such documents are no longer needed since international sanctions to Myanmar were stopped or eased.  Should a copy of the above-stated OFAC letter be needed, please make a request through our website’s Contact form, and do please state the purpose of the request.

More information about the OFAC can be found on the US Department of Treasury website.
